We are pleased to announce that following discussions with both VCA and DVSA we have secured UK acceptance of FMVSS and CMVSS standards with regard to American built electric and hybrid vehicles. Until these discussions recently there was no recognition of American or Canadian standards which meant that these low emission vehicles could not be imported and registered in the UK.
American vehicles are at the forefront of electric and hybrid technology and there are a range of vehicles hitting the market in the USA and Canada ranging from small vehicles through to full size pickup trucks and SUV’s.
The world’s best selling pickup – the F-150 – is due to be available as a fully electric version from Spring 2022 and there are many other makes and models being launched.
We have imported the first hybrid F-150 pickups to the UK which provide 430BHP with a 3.5 litre V6 twin turbo Ecoboost engine coupled with electric power. These make a formidable package which provide low and zero emissions in urban driving in a full size five seat commercial pickup .
The new 2022 F-150 Lightning fully electric pickup will take things to the next level as a zero emission full size pickup. RAM will debut the all electric pickup for 2024 model year.
